Elizabeth Moy (b.1978, Concord, MA) lives and works in Greater Boston. She received an MFA from California College of the Arts and a BFA from Syracuse University. She has exhibited in group shows at P.P.O.W (NYC), Chinese Cultural Center (SF), Kearny Street Workshop (SF), Intersection for the Arts (SF), Southern Exposure (SF) and Works / San José (San Jose, CA). She was the recipient of a NYFA Fellowship in Photography in 2010 and and is currently a Studio Artist in Residence at the Boston Center for the Arts.
Moy’s creative practice draws from a personal archive and explores issues of race, representation, and identity. Anchored by themes of grief and longing, two concurrent works in progress, Notes from the Field and Stay Healthy and Have a Happy Life, interrogate the role of the archive as a reliable narrator and lies in the murky tension to create something more true than fact.
Moy also serves as the Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives at Assets for Artists. A lifelong advocate for artists, she believes they play a valuable role in transforming civic life and has been co-creating equitable and inclusive opportunities where artists and communities can thrive.
